MADONNA TO ADOPT A GIRL THIS WEEK IN MALAWI

Madonna is finally due to adopt the little girl she has wanted for nearly two years when she flies into Malawi this weekend.
Four-year-old Mercy James was taken to a luxury lodge outside Lilongwe earlier this week, in preparation for being united with the singer, according to sources.
Madonna, 50, is expected to stay in the south-east African country for a week before flying out with Mercy - bar any last-minute hitches.
The girl is being cared for by a nanny at Kumbali Lodge - where Madonna has stayed on her previous visits to the country. She had been living at an orphanage near Blantyre, in the south of Malawi.

If you’ve wondered why Lil Kim looks little less scary on Dancing with Stars, it’s because she paid a little trip to her favorite surgeon just before filming the show to get a “fixin”:
Lil Kim was concerned with her appearance on the show, so right before Dancing With the Stars, she had reconstructive surgery to fill in her nose, and fix all the deformities that her previous surgeries caused. She is shooting a music video this Saturday for a new song she’s been working on.
Question: Why would someone have surgery to look like a totally different person, then have ANOTHER surgery to try to look like you did before your initial surgeries?
Advice to Lil Kim: Leave all that sh*t alone before your face caves in like an undercooked souffle.

JENNIFER HUDSON BACK ON AMERICAN IDOL

Returning to the show that kickstarted her career, Jennifer Hudson will be on “American Idol” tonight (March 25), but not while the television show is on air.
The singer and Idol alum will be performing for the audience after the show airs, as the special moment of the star singing will then appear on a later date.
According to reports, the “Dreamgirls” actress will be singing a song from her self-titled CD, which has already won the Grammy for best R&B album back in February. The finalist from Season 3 will air later on this season and will be the first time returning to Idol stage since the murders of her mother, brother and nephew.
Thursday, Hudson will be a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and perform her new single, “If This Isn’t Love.”
Hudson is also preparing for her nationwide tour with Robin Thicke, beginning March 31.

Madonna's boyfriend insists he didn't cheat on her - because his mother was watching him.
Jesus Luz has blasted reports he kissed lingerie model Luciana Costa, 31, at a party in his native Brazil earlier this month, insisting it would be disrespectful as he was accompanied by his mother Christiane.
He is quoted as saying: "I danced with her, but I danced with everyone at the party. My mother was at my side at the party and never would I become intimate with a woman if my mother was nearby - even if I was interested in that person.
"I have nothing with Luciana. The next day I met her on the beach and greeted her normally."
The 22-year-old model also refused to comment on his romance with Madonna - who at 50 is 14 years older than his mother.
He added: "Even if it is true that I am with her, I would never reveal these details. I was never one to comment on my personal life and that won't change now. This is a characteristic of my personality."

PHUTI KHOMO DATING A RICH MAN

SA Actress and model, Phuti Khomo has apparently been dating a rich BEE man who has paid all her debts.
According to the Sunday World, Khomo is dating a businessman from Limpopo named John Rambula.
A loose-mouthed snitch claims that the loaded man has promised to pay off her outstanding R 100K for her reposed Mercedes Benz SLK and buy her a new one.
But both Rambula and Khomo deny that they are dating, with the former claiming that they are just friends. ‘…I know her. We are good friends and nothing else. She is a good person and very intelligent,’ he gushes.
Khomo though paints a different picture all together. ‘I don’t even know that person. Maybe he is one of those people I turned down and is trying to get back at me through the media,’ the former Egoli, Mtunzini.com says when quizzed about the apparent new relationship.

RARE APPEARANCE BY KEYSHIA COLE

Singer Keyshia Cole made a rare appearance earlier this week at the 25th Annual Communications Awards dinner. The R n’ B diva, who is about to embark on a headlining tour with The Dream, was honored by the National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters for her ratings breaking BET reality series, Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is. Besides her own headlining tour, the singer is also set to launch her own bra line, as well as a collaboration with MAC Cosmetics for her own shade of lipstick

Tonight's Dinner....gilded potato/leek soup!

My friend Derek in "the LV" suggested that I send him some of the recipes for the dishes I whip up, so he can post on one of the many work/play sites he is always talking about. I don't measure anything but will try to re-create what I made tonight!

• 1/4 cup olive oil
• 1 large onion, diced
• 2 stalks of celery, ends trimmed, sliced 1/4" thick
• 2 leeks, just the white part, root end cut off, then sliced 1/4" thick
  
• 1 large sweet potato, peeled and diced
• 3 medium thin-skinned red or gold/yellow potatoes, diced
• 1/2 sweet red pepper, diced
• 1 large boxed container veggie or chicken broth
• small handful fresh basil or 2 teaspoons dry
• 1 teaspoon dried thyme
• 2 teaspoons sea salt
• 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

To save time, start sweet potatoes 10 minutes before other items. Put sweet potatoes in a small pan, cover with water and bring to boil. Parboil 3 minutes. Turn off heat. Do not drain! Heat up broth separately.

Put the sliced leeks in a bowl, fill with water, swish around with your hands to ensure any dirt between pieces is washed away. Lift out of water with a large slotted spoon or wire basket. Set aside.

Using a heavy bottomed soup pan (Dutch oven, etc.) turn heat to medium high. Add olive oil, wait a couple of minutes for oil to heat. Add diced onions and celery. Saute 3 mins. Add leeks, saute 2 minutes. Add parboiled sweet potatoes along with water from pan, the potatoes and sweet red pepper. Add basil, thyme, salt and pepper. Add heated broth and enough hot water to cover all vegetables.

Bring to boil, then reduce heat to a low boil/heavy simmer for 15 minutes.

Turn heat off, and using a potato masher, carefully mash soup to desired consistency. Soup will be very hot so be very careful! Return to heat, taste, and adjust seasonings. Add 2-4 tablespoons of butter, Smart Balance (vegetarian), or Earth Balance (vegan). Stir, let sit 5 minutes.

Serve with warm crusty bread topped with fresh mozzarella cheese, ripe tomatoes and basil leaves, drizzled with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Enjoy!
