Outlook not good......
They Cannot Answer This
In that spirit, I posted the following at the Huffington Post, hoping it would clean a few people's windows. When the day is done, there are two kinds of people in the world: those who take false accusation of rape seriously, and those who feel it is nothing to get fussed about. Well some of us take false accusation very seriously indeed, and refuse to shut up about it. As a counter-feminist agent of change, your discourse in this realm should revolve around that point and not stray far from it. It is a strong point, and you can occupy such a point forever and never be driven from it. It holds the gravitas inherent to any moral high ground, and whoever goes against you occupies a position of weakness.

Superstars: Front row for Gianni Morbidelli's Audi RS 5 quattro in Portimao qualifying
By Tarek Ramchani
Audi Sport Italia is very busy this weekend. In addition to the Italian GT Championship round at Imola where the team scored a fantastic pole position, the official Audi Italia dealer team is also racing in the Superstars Series at Portimao.
The team being split between two locations, with a single Audi RS 5 quattro having been entered for the Portuguese round. The #45 Audi of Gianni Morbidelli, who is currently second in the driver's standing after double victories at Zolder last time out. The three-time Superstars Series champion performed very well today in the qualifying session with a fine second on the grid. Not bad from the Italian touring car ace as the Audi RS 5 quattro is carrying an extra 60 kilograms and a smaller air restrictor.
Gianni Morbidelli will have to fight with three fast Mercedes-Benz cars in the two races tomorrow. Pole position went to Luigi Ferrari with a Mercedes-Benz AMG C63. In third and fourth were the factory supported Mercedes Romeo Ferraris cars of Vitantonio Liuzzi and Thomas Biagi. Both Liuzzi and Biagi are the direct rivals for Morbidelli in the hunt for the championship title.
In addition to the official Audi Sport Italia entry, two Audi RS 4 quattro (B7) cars are also entered for the Portimao round. The cars are from Adria Raceway with drivers Jonathan Giacon and Alessandro Battaglin. They qualified in tenth and fourteenth respectively.

Italian GT: Pole postion for Audi Sport Italia at Imola
By Tarek Ramchani
The Italian GT Championship is at Imola this weekend, for the fourth round of the season. The qualifying sessions were held this afternoon, and brought great satisfaction for Audi Sport Italia.
The official Audi Italia dealer team is again fielding two Audi R8 LMS ultra cars. In the first qualifying session Audi drivers Dindo Capello and Andrea Sonvico scored a fantastic pole position. The drivers of the #4 Audi R8 LMS ultra will start first tomorrow for the first race of the day. A great lap from Andrea Sonvico with a time of 1:44.614. Their team-mates Johan Kristoffersson and Alex Frassineti will start from position eight with their #5 Audi R8 LMS ultra.
Later in the second qualifying session the two Audis were fast but not able to reach the top 3. The best ranked R8 LMS ultra is the #5 car of Capello and Sonvico in fifth place. Kristoffersson and Frassineti improved compared to the first session, ending in seventh place. Pole position for race 2 went to the Ferrari 458 Italia from Black Bull Swisse Racing.
The two races are set for tomorrow. Live stream coverage will be available at the official series website here: www.acisportitalia.it/GT

Gucci earplugs, I believe….
USCR: Audi R8 in GT, what about Daytona Prototypes or LMP2 power?
By Tarek Ramchani
Grand-Am Road Racing, the American Le Mans Series and its series sanctioning body IMSA (International Motorsport Association) has published the classes structures and regulations for the newly formed United Sportscar Series (USCR). The unified North American sportscar series will debut next year at the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
No more LMP1 class in North America, the USCR will have Daytona Prototypes (DP) and Le Mans Prototypes 2 (LMP2) cars for the upper class, the cars that will fight for overall victories. The ALMS GT class will stay as it is now and will be named GT Le Mans (GTLM), using the ACO GTE rules.
Audi will be represented in the GT Daytona (GTD) class. The Audi R8 GRAND-AM will enter the combined class of Rolex Series GT cars and ALMS GTC cars (an all-911 GT3 Cup field). Big changes for the class next year, as it will become a Pro-Am division. IMSA will introduce a driver categorization system, similar to what the FIA uses in both the FIA WEC and Blancpain Endurance Series. Therefore the possible Audi teams in USCR will not be able to field a full-star line-up like they did at this year's Rolex 24 at Daytona, where Audi took the GT class honors. A clean border will be set between the two GT classes. GT Le Mans will mostly be open for factory teams and full pro drivers, whilst GT Daytona will be a home mostly for privateers and gentlemen drivers.
In addition to the Audi R8 GRAND-AM, we have to wait and see if any Audi "possibilities" arise for a move into the upper classes, either DP or LMP2. Audi welcomed the merge of the Rolex Series and the American Le Mans Series into the new United SportsCar Racing. In the last few months there were a lot of rumours and speculation about a possible Audi effort in Daytona Prototypes. It is not a secret that America is a very big market for Audi, and the Ingolstadt brand always wants to fight for overall wins. The USCR will be a top series in international sportscar racing and an Audi DP car, for that target market, would make sense.
Another possibilty is to see Audi as an engine supplier in the LMP2 class. If this happens it will not affect only the USCR but also the FIA World Endurance Championship. The idea of having Audi powered cars in LMP2 is great, no doubts. Who would not like to see TFSI powered machines at Le Mans, Sebring, Daytona and across the globe in FIA WEC? However, the recent changes at the head of the Research and Development (R&D) at Audi AG may bring some new orientations for racing commitments in North America. Anyway and whatever Audi may choose, if they decide to enter the USCR, will be part of the Audi Sport customer racing program. Therefore such an effort will only be in the hands of privateer and independents teams. It will be hard to see Audi fielding a factory team with a Daytona Prototype, and even harder to see the Four Rings using a chassis from another manufacturer with "only" Audi power in LMP2.
The above is of course only speculation, only time will tell what Audi's possible programs for the United SportsCar Racing could be.

Rolex Series: Two Audi R8 GRAND-AM for Indianapolis
By Tarek Ramchani
The world famous Indianapolis Motors Speedway will host the eighth round of the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series next week. The Indianapolis meeting, known as the Brickyard Grand Prix, will be a three-hour race supporting the NASCAR Sprint Cup and held on the road course.
The event itself is part of the special North American Endurance Championship. It will be the third and final race of this championship within the main Rolex Series. Audi will be represented by two R8 GRAND-AM cars from two different teams.
The #24 car is a full factory effort under the name of Audi Sport customer racing. The car will be shared by two Audi works drivers, Edoardo Mortata and Filipe Albuquerque, both of them racing in the DTM with Audi Sport Team Rosberg. The car will be directly supervised by quattro GmbH and Kettler Motor Werks. Audi Sport customer racing is currently third in the team's standings of the NAEC with 22 points. Both Edoardo Mortata and Filipe Albuquerque are fourth overall in the driver's standings with 22 points. At Indy Audi will fight hard to achieve a GT class victory after the main Daytona 24 Hours earlier this year, as well as trying to win the North American Endurance Championship.
The second Audi R8 GRAND-AM entry is a privateer effort from Fall-Line Motorsports. The customer team debuted with the car at Watkins Glen, with some positive performances, including leading the race. At Indianapolis their #46 Audi will be shared by drivers Al Carter, Charles Espenlaub and Brett Sandberg. At the Glen the three drivers finished twenty-seventh overall and fourteenth within the GT class. At Indy the Fall Line Motorsports team will try to learn more with the car and improve further.

BES: Audi teams aim for third victory at Spa
- Seven Audi R8 LMS ultra cars in world’s major GT3 race
- Audi unbeaten in iconic Belgian event since 2011
- Audi factory drivers, GT specialists and privateer drivers in the cockpits
Ingolstadt, July 19, 2013 – The customers of Audi Sport customer racing are facing an ambitious task. The Spa 24 Hours on July 27 and 28 featuring a field of 70 entrants is regarded as the world’s toughest GT3 race. Following the two victories of the factory teams in 2011 and 2012, the R8 LMS ultra is aiming for its third win in succession.
Two times three: For Audi, the Spa 24 Hours is about scoring the third victory in succession – plus the third victory in a 24-hour race this year. In 2011 and 2012, the Audi R8 LMS won the iconic event in the Ardennes. And this year, the brand, on winning the GT class at the Daytona 24 Hours with the R8 GRAND-AM and achieving the twelfth overall victory of an Audi sports prototype at the Le Mans 24 Hours, has celebrated two international successes in endurance racing so far.
At Spa, a competition of mammoth proportions is awaiting the teams, as 73 entrants have registered for the fourth round of the Blancpain Endurance Series on July 27 and 28. Nine sports car manufacturers are competing for victory. The intensity of this GT3 competition is unrivaled worldwide. Audi celebrated the first overall victory of its R8 LMS customer sports race car in a 24-hour race at Spa two years ago – fielded by Team WRT, driven by Mattias Ekström and his two team-mates Timo Scheider and Greg Franchi. The two-time DTM Champion Ekström is now returning to the historic venue with WRT, running as the team-mate of his Swedish compatriot Edward Sandström. The third in the trio is Audi factory driver Marcel Fässler, the 2011 and 2012 Le Mans winner. Fässler’s Le Mans team-mate AndrĂ© Lotterer is traveling to the Ardennes as well. The German, who grew up in Belgium, is sharing the number ‘2’ R8 LMS ultra with Blancpain Endurance Champion Christopher Mies and last year’s winner Frank Stippler.
The Belgian WRT squad of Team Director Vincent Vosse is putting two other R8 LMS ultra cars on the grid at its home round. Rahel Frey, as in the other rounds of the Blancpain Endurance Series, is sharing the cockpit of a car designated as number ‘0’ with Matt Halliday and Niki Mayr-Melnhof. StĂ©phane Ortelli, the winner of last year’s Blancpain Endurance Series, is sharing car number ‘1’ with last year’s winner RenĂ© Rast and with Laurens Vanthoor.
Ernst Moser’s Team Phoenix Racing is competing with its two well-known regular driver line-ups from the Blancpain Endurance Series. Christopher Haase, Champion of the Blancpain Endurance Series, is sharing car number ‘6’ with Harold Primat and Audi factory driver Oliver Jarvis, the GT class winner of the 2013 Daytona 24 Hours. Enzo Ide, Anthony Kumpen and Markus Winkelhock are taking the wheel of the sister car designated as number ’16.’
A seventh Audi R8 LMS ultra will be put on the grid by United Autosports. The Anglo-American privateer team of Richard Dean and Zak Brown is running in the classic race for the fourth consecutive time. In the Pro-Am class, the squad relies on the British drivers Will Bratt and Glynn Geddie, the native Frenchman Alain Li and on Mark Patterson from the United States.
While the fans are watching the race on location along the legendary 7.004-kilometer Ardennes roller-coaster track, viewers at home can look forward to extensive TV coverage this year. The channel Motors TV will air a total of almost 12 hours of direct reports of the action in Belgium. RTL Nitro will carry a 60-minute summary on Sunday night (July 28). Before the Belgian GP, RTL will broadcast another summarized report.

Quotes by the officials
Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich, Head of Audi Motorsport: “This year, Spa will again be the most impressive GT3 race you can imagine. This concept simply works well. Following the two victories we celebrated there, it’s in the hands of our teams this year to clinch a good result for Audi. We’re supporting the commitment with a few factory drivers who enjoy competing in this race. It’ll no doubt be a very thrilling as well as a very tough race.”
Romolo Liebchen, Head of Audi Sport customer racing: “After two consecutive wins, Audi Sport customer racing wishes to support its customers in battling for the third victory at Spa this time. The first three races have shown the magnitude of the current challenge in the Blancpain Endurance Series. Three different marques have won so far, but an Audi team hasn’t been among them yet. The R8 LMS ultra has to compete with an air restrictor that’s significantly smaller than it was a year ago. Thus, our customers have to try and compensate for this disadvantage with factors such as strategy, the shortest possible pit stop times and driving without any mistakes. That poses a huge challenge.”
Selected quotes from each driver team
Rahel Frey, Audi R8 LMS ultra #0 (Belgian Audi Club Team WRT)
“In an endurance race, you need a very reliable car and that’s what the R8 LMS ultra is without the trace of a doubt. In terms of driving, everything’s got to fit too, and my team-mates, Matt Halliday and Niki Mayr-Melnhof, and I complement each other well. The WRT team is a top-caliber squad. I’m now starting at my third 24-hour race. At Le Mans, I was on the grid a few years ago with a private team that retired at an early stage. Two months ago, I ran at the NĂĽrburgring with the Audi race experience but the race was interrupted for nine hours. Now, at Spa, I’m hoping to drive the entire distance for the first time.”
René Rast, Audi R8 LMS ultra #1 (Belgian Audi Club Team WRT)
“A year ago, we won at Spa, that’s why it’s a particularly good feeling to return to this venue. Now I’m running in a slightly different line-up – with the Belgian Audi Club Team WRT that was the winner two years ago and with StĂ©phane Ortelli and Laurens Vanthoor as team-mates. In the first three rounds of the Blancpain Endurance Series, the three of us have experienced that the ‘grapes are hanging very high on the vine’ this year. Obviously, we’re aiming for a good result. Spa’s the most important GT3 endurance race and our goal is to improve from sixth place in the standings.”
André Lotterer, Audi R8 LMS ultra #2 (Belgian Audi Club Team WRT)
“Spa is my home track because I grew up in Belgium. That’s one of the reasons why I’m happy to compete with the Belgian WRT team of Vincent Vosse. And returning to this race this year in an Audi R8 LMS ultra is fantastic. A year ago, we were very fast but lacking fortune because a rival drove into our car. As a result, we lost twelve laps through no fault of our own. In Frank Stippler and Christopher Mies I’ve got two strong team-mates who’ve won many races in the R8. We’d definitely like to be in contention for the top spot.”
Christopher Haase, Audi R8 LMS ultra #6 (Phoenix Racing)
“The atmosphere at Spa is simply superb. It’s the biggest GT3 race in the world and has its own special attraction – from the field of entrants through to the traditional fireworks at midnight that can even be seen from the cockpit. The track is world-class, the weather keeps causing surprises and more than 70 cars are expected. I believe that we’re in for the most difficult running of this race this year.”
Mattias Ekström, Audi R8 LMS ultra #13 (Belgian Audi Club Team WRT)
“In 2011, we won the Spa 24 Hours with WRT – a victory that really means a lot to me in my career. Now I’m running for the first time with Edward Sandström, whom I’ve known for a long time, and with Marcel Fässler. The R8 LMS ultra is excellent and in the Belgian Audi Club Team WRT we’re backed by a top-caliber squad. We’ve got all the ingredients this year to help us in battling for victory.”
Markus Winkelhock, Audi R8 LMS ultra #16 (Phoenix Racing)
“I must admit that I’m very curious about the race because I’ve never been on the grid of the Spa 24 Hours. My two Belgian team-mates Enzo Ide and Anthony Kumpen have done many laps on this track in their careers. Our test day was positive and Phoenix Racing, as always, is perfectly prepared. I’ve intensified my endurance training by cycling and running and have prepared for the heat by taking saunas.”
Mark Patterson, Audi R8 LMS ultra #125 (United Autosports)
“I’m sure that our Audi R8 in the course of 24 hours has a good chance of being in contention for a podium place in the Pro-Am classification. I’ve been driving for United Autosports ever since the team was formed at the beginning of 2010 and have been on the grid at Spa, Daytona, Abu Dhabi and Bathurst. I feel very comfortable with this squad. Spa is the best track in the world with legendary corners such as Eau Rouge, Pouhon, Stavelot and Blanchimont.”

Fitness Friday| What you need for a simple home gym
I don’t know about you but I’m not a massive fan of the gym. I don’t mind it every now and again but I see no point in paying to run on a treadmill when there are roads and fields to run in. Yes the weight machines are great as are the classes, but there are so many workouts you can do at home without the need for an expensive gym membership or expensive gym equipment.
So today I thought I would share with you my tips for creating a simple home gym. The first thing you need is a sports bra and running trainers, at home the road is your treadmill! If you don’t run already summer is the best time to start. Head out early morning or in the evening so it is cooler. If you start in the summer you have very few elements you have to fight such as the wind, rain and cold, and by the time winter comes round you’ll already be a seasoned runner so the rain and snow won’t faze you!
Above are pictures of my home gym. I’ll talk you through what I recommend to get you started for working out in the comfort of your own home.
- Space- Space is vital! However you don’t need loads. I used to workout in my university hall room which was about the width of me, so under 6 feet wide! I used to do sit-ups and push-ups on the tiny rectangle of my floor, so believe me as long as you have space to lie down and spread your arms out you have room to workout. Like many of you I workout in my living room. I push back the matt in my living room and push the sofa to one side to ensure I can get as much space to jump around as possible.
- Yoga Matt- Again very important! If like me you have wooden, hard floors you need to ensure you have a matt to cushion you back and your landing when jumping around. You cannot do sit-ups on a hard wooden floor you will severely damage your back! Even if you have a carpet a yoga matt is still recommended s its that extra support plus its easier to hold onto when doing the plank than a carpet which can be slippy.
- Towel- For me a towel is a must! I admit that when I workout I sweat, it’s not attractive but I don’t aim to look good while I workout. However sweating and yoga matts do not mix very well! So I use my ebody Gym Towel from ecloth* its very compact and super drying! I love this towel as I place it on my yoga matt and place my hands on it when doing the plank, mountain climber, burpees etc and the sweat from my hands is absorbed super quickly.
- Water- Again a must for ever workout! I use my CamelBak Water Bottle everyday throughout the whole day. However a simple resealable plastic bottle is just fine. Just make sure you are guzzling at least 2 litres of water a day.
- YouTube- YouTube is a life savour for us girls who workout at home as it gives you everything you need for a great workout for free! There are so many amazing fitness, health and workout channels on YouTube that post sometimes daily workouts! There is no need to pay for classes or pay a subscription for websites when there are free services. All you need to do is find a channel you love and try their videos. To help you out I have 4 playlists on my YouTube channel that are purely full of all the workouts that I have done and love.
- Weights- Weights are a must, they help you tone up, built sexy sculpted muscles and burn fat fast! I bought mine from Argos for around £20 for three weights of different sizes. If you don’t have money for weights, grab a tine of beans, or get water bottles and fill them with stones or sand. Tis is a good place to start for those who haven’t used weights before.
- Heart Rate Monitor- Not a must but something I recommend to those who already workout often and want something to help them track their result or push them further. I love my Polar Heart Rate Monitor it really does spur me on and pushes me harder. You can read my full review on it here.
What do you think of my home gym? Does yours look similar or am I missing something vital in your eyes? Are you a gym bunny, or a make it up as you go along girl like me?

ALMS 2001: Audi defended their titles - Emanuele Pirro champion
By Tarek Ramchani
Part two of Audi's legacy in the American Le Mans series, focusing this time on the 2001 season. The year 2000 was a magical season for Audi, winning the driver, team and manufacturer titles. For 2001 the target was to defend the three crowns and bring them back to Ingolstadt.
Big changes for 2001, the driver champion, Allan McNish, had left the series and Audi for Formula One with Toyota. BMW Motorsport left the upper LMP900 class, withdrawing their BMW V12 LMR, and entered the production based GT class. And for the first time since Audi's sportscar program debuted, customer teams fielded the Audi R8. Champion Racing from Florida and Johanson Motorsport (Arena) from the UK, each with a one-car effort. The customer teams were armed with one-year old and ex-factory Audi R8 cars from 2000.
Audi's main challengers were the strong Panoz Motorsports effort along with Cadillac, a factory team from GM Racing. Audi entered two works cars under the Audi Sport North America banner, which were again managed by Team Joest. The #1 Audi for Tom Kristensen and Dindo Capello, and the sister #2 R8 for Frank Biela and Emanuele Pirro.
The 2001 American Le Mans Series consisted of a ten race calendar, with two events being held in Europe. The season opener was set at Texas Speedway, Audi won the event with a fine 1-2 victory for the factory team. The race win went to Tom Kristensen and Dindo Capello. The next round was the prestigious 12 Hours of Sebring. Audi dominated Florida's classic with an impressive 1 2 3 4 win. The Audi of Dindo Capello, joined this time by Laurent Aiello and the late Michele Alboreto, won outright ahead of the sister Joest car, whilst the customer teams Champion Racing and Johansson Motorsport finished in third and fourth.
Later the ALMS field moved to Europe for two meetings. The races were combined events between the ALMS and ELMS (new European Le Mans Series). Round 3 was at Donington Park with Audi again dominating. A 1-2-3 win with the #1 Audi R8 of Tom Kristensen and Dindo Capello victorious. At Jarama in Spain for round 4, Kristensen and Capello did it again beating their teammates Biela and Pirro.
After the summer break for the Le Mans 24 Hours, where Audi scored a 1-2 victory, the series went back to North America. Sonoma, California hosted the fifth round of the season. Audi won the event with Capello and Kristensen finishing first. The next event was at Portland with a surprising result in the end. Panoz beat Audi for the first of the season. Frank Biela and Emanuele Pirro finished second. For round seven, the series headed up north to Canada, Frank Biela and Emanuele Pirro won the race at Mosport. At Mid-Ohio, Panoz again beat Audi. Tom Kristensen and Dindo Capello ended second with the #1 R8. The series then returned back to California at Laguna Seca. Frank Biela and Emanuele Pirro won the race, a 1-2-3 for the Audi R8. The season finale was at Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta and again it was an all Audi affair. The factory Audi R8 of Frank Biela and Emanuele Pirro won ahead of the customer Audis from Johansson Motorsport and Champion Racing.
The 2001 American Le Mans Series gave Audi great satisfaction. Eight race wins and all three titles were successfully defended. Emanuele Pirro won the driver's title in the #2 Audi R8, followed by his teammate Frank Biela in the standings. Their teammates Dindo Capello and Tom Kristensen were third and fourth respectively. Audi Sport North America again won the team's title and Audi again secured the manufacturer's trophy. Great satisfaction also for the privateers Johansson Motorsport and Champion Racing. Both teams performed very well all season long, and the Johansson Motorsport squad was crowned champions of the ELMS. For 2002, Audi would again join the ALMS, but for the last time as a full factory effort with the R8.

When Feminism Stops Moving, It's DEAD!
Feminism must remain in motion or it will stop existing. This will ultimately prove its undoing, because there is only so far it can push before outside forces surround it and destroy it. When feminism becomes more trouble than it's worth to the rest of the world, the world will rise against it.

The 81st Le Mans 24 Hours review by l'endurance and Dailysportscar
By Tarek Ramchani
It was the year when the Automobile Club de L'ouest celebrated the 90th anniversary of the legendary Le Mans 24 Hours. The 81st edition saw a great battle between two LMP1 giants, Audi and Toyota. Audi was victorious in the end, the twelfth overall win for the Four Rings at La Sarthe.
Our friends at l'endurance.co.uk, in collaboration with Dailysportscar, has just published their ultimate race review for the French endurance classic. A brilliant and fully detailed review class by class in LMP1, LMP2, GTE Pro and GTE Am. You can read the review right here.
l'endurance is also on social media: Their Facebook page is here, and Twitter account is here.
