British GT: United Autosports Audi qualified seventh at Donington Park

Donington Park is hosting the season finale of the British GT Championship this weekend. Audi is represented with two R8 LMS and ultra cars from two different teams.

United Autosports, the leading Audi team in British GT, is fielding a single Audi R8 LMS ultra. The team's drivers, Matt Bell and Mark Patterson, are still in contention for the British GT title and they are currently seventh overall in the points standings. The drivers of the #25 Audi qualified in seventh place this afternoon, during an eventful qualifying session. Matt Bell set a time of 1:29.060, he was only 0.771 seconds slower than the pole-setting car.

The United Autosports drivers will have no choice other than to win the race tomorrow, in order to take the championship title. Matt Bell and Mark Patterson will have to fight hard in a very large and healthy GT3 grid. The race is a two-hour event, the Anglo-American team must not only be quick, but they must also have a perfect race strategy and pit stops.

The other Audi effort is from PE Group Blendini Motor. / Dom Evans. Their #11 Audi R8 LMS, driven by Dom Evans Tom Roche, qualified further behind in twenty-second position.

Team WRT, who entered the last couple of British GT rounds, are not taking part in this season finale at Donington Park.

Pole position went to the #8 BMW Z4 GT3 from 888 Optimum Racing. Second was the #32 Porsche 997 GT3 R from Trakspeed and third the #73 BMW Z4 GT3 from Ecurie Ecosse. The qualifying results can be seen here.

Brazilian GT: Pole position for Ebrahim Motors Audi R8 LMS ultra at Velopark

Round six of the Brazilian GT Championship is at Velopark in Porto Alegre this weekend. Ebrahim Motors are continuing a very strong season with their Audi R8 LMS ultra.

Ebrahim Motors have been fielding one Audi R8 LMS ultra in the Brazilian GT Championship, the #20 Audi driven by Ebrahim brothers: Wagner and Fábio Ebrahim.

They have again showed good pace this weekend, which has been highlighted by a pole position for race two on Sunday. They will be lining up fourth for race one, behind two Lamborghinis and one Ferrari.

The first race will be taking place later on Saturday, followed by race two on Sunday. We wish the best of luck to the Ebrahim Motors team for the two races.

Pirelli World Challenge: Crucial pole position for GMG Racing in Houston

The finale of the Pirelli World Challenge is taking place on the streets of Houston this weekend. It is a title showdown between James Sofronas in his GMG Racing Audi R8 LMS and Johnny O'Connell in his factory Cadillac CTS-V.R.

James Sofronas arrives in Houston as the current points leader, with a mere 21 point lead over O'Connell. Three Audis have been entered this weekend: two Audi R8 LMS cars from GMG Racing in the GT class and one Audi TT RS car from Istook Motorsports in the GTS class.

The second GMG R8 LMS is being piloted by Rene Rast, the factory Audi Sport customer racing driver, who has been added to the squad to support Sofronas’ bid for the title. Rast immediately showed his pace by placing second in the first practice session and first in the second session. Sofronas was sixth in both of the practice sessions. 

Qualifying was cancelled due to track altercations in the long break between practice sessions one and two, thus the grid will be determined by championship points. This results in James Sofronas gaining the crucial pole position and Rene Rast starting sixth, last in the GT class, as he has no points on the table.

The race is scheduled for 10:45 am local time on Sunday. We wish the best of luck to both Audi teams.

BPCC: Audi leading field into penultimate championship round

AUDI is the leading manufacturer in the Bridgestone Production Cars as the field heads to Killarney on Saturday, 5 October, for the penultimate round of the 2013 season. Commanding performances on-track by the four Audi S4 competitors sees Audi enjoy a 25 point lead over their rivals.

Leading the charge for the Audi S4 quattro racers is defending champion, Michael Stephen (A1 – Engen Xtreme). Stephen is leading the championship and is well on course to achieve a third consecutive national title in this series.

The Cape Town event provides Stephen an opportunity to cement his leading position in as the year draws to a close. While it is late in the season, there is no slowing down as he fights for his third title. Every point matters and Stephen will have to exert maximum effort to keep his challengers at bay.

In fourth place on the championship scoreboard, Gennaro Bonafede (A32 – Ferodo Racing) will be using the final two rounds of the year to launch a fight for a season podium finish. Bonafede needs just 11 points to equal the score of the current third-place man. Points for fastest lap and pole position will be just as important as scoring well in the race results, so racers will be looking for every bit of pace they can get.

Just behind Bonafede is Tschops Sipuka (A2 – Engen Xtreme) who might have to do a bit more work than Bonafede but also stands a chance at a claiming a podium finish this season. Six points separate Sipuka and Bonafede which is a gap that Sipuka can aim to close with a blistering performance in the penultimate round.

Melvill Priest (A7 – Mueller Sports Medicine) trails Sipuka by just two points which will set up an interesting three-way battle as they attempt to get their Audi S4 quattros to the finish as quickly as possible – while keeping the racing as precise as possible as an incident this late in the season will immediately take them out of the championship fight.

When the Audi S4 quattros take to the start line at Killarney on Saturday, 5 October, each racer will have a specific goal in mind – and will be working hard to achieve it to ensure they enter the final round of the season in a strong position.

Pirelli World Challenge: GMG heads to Pirelli World Challenge finale in pursuit of GT Championship

SANTA ANA, Calif. (October 3, 2013)- Following a roller coaster of a season that has seen James Sofronas and the entire Global Motorsports Group (GMG) in a season-long championship battle with Johnny O’Connell’s No. 3 Cadillac CTS-V.R, everything will boil down to this Sunday’s finale during the Foametix Grand Prix of Houston.

“Whatever happens on Sunday, everyone on this team should be proud of getting to this point,” stated Sofronas. “We’ve come so close to winning this thing in the past, nothing would make me happier than to finally take it; especially in our first full year with Audi. The way the points are shaping up, it should be a straight fight between Johnny and I on Sunday, so we’ll just have to keep our heads down and see where it goes.”

With Sofronas and the No.14 The Thermal Club / Hoffman Power Weight / Swisher Racing / Mobil 1 Audi R8 LMS a mere 21 points ahead of their Cadillac challengers, Sunday’s race promises to be a close fight. With World Challenge’s point system, a series of pole positions, fastest laps and victories by O’Connell could usurp the GMG team regardless finishing position. With that the Villa Park, California resident knows he must do everything he can to say ahead.

Luckily for James, he will not go it alone as the team will welcome Audi factory driver René Rast to the fold this weekend. Driving the No. 95 Swisher Racing Audi R8 LMS, Rast will join Sofronas in an effort to bolster the team’s championship hopes.

Rast, from Minden, Germany, will be making his debut in the Pirelli World Challenge but is no stranger to American competition. In 2012, he won the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona, and followed it up with a podium run during this year’s event. He currently competes in the FIA GT series, where he has taken multiple pole positions.

This is all possible thanks to GMG veteran Bill Ziegler, who came up with the idea to step out of his No. 95 Swisher Racing machine in favor of the talented German.

“I can’t tell you how much it means to me that Bill has so graciously allowed René to run with us this weekend,” continued Sofronas. “Bill and everyone at Swisher Racing have been such a loyal part of the GMG program, that you can never fully pay back what they’ve done to help out. Similarly, Audi has really gone out of their way to help us out in securing René. His record speaks for itself, and it will bolster our team effort that much more.”

Practice for this weekend’s event begin tomorrow morning at 8:35AM CT, with the race taking place on Sunday. Live coverage of the series finale can be found live on world-challengetv.com at 10:45AM CT.

DTM: Mattias Ekström in a V8 Supercar - Testing Video

Two DTM superstars will be joining the 2013 Bathurst 1000 grid next weekend. One of the two international drivers is non-other than Audi Sport factory DTM driver, and two-time DTM champion, Mattias Ekström.

Mattias Ekström will be joined by BMW’s Andy Priaulx, the multiple WTCC champion and current BMW factory DTM driver. The pair will be behind the wheel of the Xbox One Holden Commodore wild card entry, entered and run by Triple Eight Race Engineering.

The pairing took part in a test session at Queensland Raceway this week. For Priaulx it was the first time on track with the new generation of Australian V8 Supercars, as he has competed at Bathurst in the past. For Ekström it was a first taste of a V8 Supercar and he is looking forward to his first laps at Mount Panorama next week. 

SpeedCafe have published a video featuring the X-Box One test, and it includes brief interviews with both DTM drivers. That video has been embedded below.

The race will be taking place from 10-13 October.

Any runners will probably have experienced the following; earphones refusing to stay in your ears, having to swiftly turn your head to cross the road resulting in them being painfully ripped out of your ear, struggling with tangled wires, trying to decided whether to tuck them into your top and be uncomfortable or leave them flying around on front of you and be irritated by them etc. etc. Surprisingly I never really thought there was an alternative and had resulted to a life of being irritated by them flying around in front of me. That is until Jabra contacted me and asked whether I would be interested in trying their Sport Wireless Plus Headphones as part of their #SetSoudFree campaign; obviously I jumped at the chance.

I waited in anticipation for them, as they took a little while to be shipped over from the US, however they were definitely worth the wait. Firstly I’m a sucker for great packaging, and the Jabra Sport Wireless Plus Headphones* packaging is sleek and very much reminds me of Apple packaging; its all part of the product. It also remind me of Apple as they let the product do the talking. There is not much sale spiel, just a simple get started guide.

After reading the simple guide I was ready to try the headphones out within a few minutes… which is pretty good for me as I am not very savvy with technology! The headphones work via bluetooth, so you simply turn on your bluetooth on your phone and connect it to the headphones. The headphones are now ready to play music, take calls, or as mine do, tell me how slow I’m running and how much further I have to run!

The Jabra Sport Wireless Plus Headphones did come with a wide variety of ear-gels so you can choose the one which is most comfortable for you, from ones that fit right in your ear, or ones that don’t… they came in all shapes and sizes!

So after connecting the headphones up to my phone, choosing the correct ear-gel for me, and tightening the fit clip around the back of my head I took off on my run. At first the headphones didn’t feel very secure, and one slipped off my ear, however I realised that you can sort of mold the headphone around your ear making it tighter and definitely secure. I ran for 30 minutes and after securing the headphones I didn't have to touch or rearrange them once. I’ve worn them in the rain and they work perfectly, which they should as they are sold as being weather and shock proof.

Thy headphones are endorsed by Craig Alexander; a 5 times Ironman world champion and they are sold as being US military shock proof, and after wearing them everyday for the week I am pretty certain that they are tough and longwearing.

Overall I am very impressed. They are very comfortable,  very secure, can withstand the heavy Lancashire rain, and the sound quality is great! I’ve been enjoying my runs a lot more, as I no longer have to battle with annoying wires. I am definitely a convert, and much like I couldn’t imagine a run without my Polar HRM Monitor Watch, I now could not imagine a run without my Jabra Sport Wireless Plus Headphones… so long crappy apple headphones!

22                  Shootings 2012 saw the horror in Sandy Hook. I am sad to say that there will be more of these terrible events in 2013 and beyond. They won't stop till the powers that be come to their senses and change the law. It will take for one of their own loved ones to be amongst the victims, to trigger the change, I'm afraid.

Here is a story with something extra special about it. It concerns a young man whose ex-girlfriend stabbed him in the penis with a kitchen knife, in a "hell hath no fury like woman scorned" scenario. Fury indeed! She wanted sex with HIM, you understand, but he rebuffed her. What makes this even "better" is that she also made a false allegation of sexual assault in order to exonerate herself from her bloody crime:

If this makes you think of the Bobbitt case, then your mind is working as it properly should. Archivist, of the False Rape Society, naturally draws attention to the parallel and offers a quick recap of the infamous episode followed by this observation:

In fact, before a single fact was adjudicated, before a scrap of evidence was admitted at trial, serious publications covered the story as if the dismemberment was in some manner justified. It was called "a cautionary tale" for men.

Yes, and dredging my own memory of that time, I can still see the news photos of street demonstrations, and I can still hear the "you go girl!" rhetoric complete with all of the foaming spittle that accompanied this! Similarly, I can't help thinking of the Duke lacrosse case, where the trial-by-media ran upon an identical track. Oh the irony! Heaps and heaps of it, mounting up to the firmament!

Fast forward to 2009 and the case of another knife-wielding woman. This time, there is no indication that the man wronged her. The man was not charged with sexually abusing her, as Mr. Bobbitt was. Her apparently criminal overreaction to her ex-boyfriend's rebuffs is not embraced by feminists or the news media. In fact, she's probably an embarrassment to the feminists.

In short, the case doesn't represent some larger "truth" about male predatory behavior or female victimization. In fact, never are the words "domestic violence" used in the news reports, as they surely would be if the genders were reversed . . . .
It's just a story about a man apparently falsely accused of sexual assault whose penis was attacked by a knife-wielding woman.

Nothing to get excited about.

"Nothing to get excited about." That summation certainly doesn't waste any words, does it? ;)

The story is a few years old, but it sounds as recent as last week, doesn't it? Feminists are STILL telling us that "misandry doesn't exist", and you know what? They will go on telling us that until hell freezes over, because if they finally threw in the towel and admitted that misandry is just as real as misogyny, and just as prevalent, it would spell the rapid demise of feminism - both as an ideology and as a movement. Feminism would simply not be viable if it could not blame everything on men and exonerate women from moral accountability in every possible case.

I don't share this story for cheap, sensationalistic reasons. That is not how I roll. Rather, I share it to make a point about the cultural morality which governs our world. If we swap out the sexes in this story, so that some man had done the roughly equivalent thing to some woman, then the femosphere would flare up like a forest fire. They would blaze on and on about it, you may be sure of that. They would regale us with all manner of patriarchy theories, and misogyny narratives, and hysterical jabberings about toxic masculinity. The liberal chattering classes, too, would join in the ruckus. Years later, it would make the textbooks in women's studies courses, and feminist politicians would recount the story in front of  their various legislatures while urging that new laws be passed to protect women and criminalize maleness even further.

But because a woman did this horrendous thing to a man, it evidently does not warrant any particular flutter - and indeed, since 2008, it has vanished from our collective memory as effectively as (to use my favorite analogy) a rock tossed into the ocean would do. It made a little splash for a little moment before it sank out of sight forever.

Really, nobody much cares about violence against men. When it happens to women, then for some mysterious reason - so far as our culture is concerned - it is objectively more of a tragedy. There is no other explanation for this, but  that our culture deems male life less valuable. Simply stated, there is no other explanation than male disposability.

Feminism capitalizes on this cultural mindset, and exploits it to the hilt. 

The worst of it is that not only is violence against men regarded as nothing at all, but men are consistently exploited as scapegoats and moral punching bags for ALL of society's sins - especially women's. In a nutshell, feminism robs men morally, physically, spiritually, materially, financially, and every way you can think of, and adds insult to injury by blaming men for pretty much everything that is wrong with the world. Furthermore, they pollute the female masses with this mental outlook and then have the fucking gall to whine about "misogyny", and tell us that misandry doesn't exist.

Feminism is the enemy of men, and men who support feminism are double enemies because they are traitors. I care about men, and that is why I denounce feminism. For if I shut my mouth, knowing what I know, then I too would be a traitor.

Oct 1 is Stop Violence Against Men Day

The first day of every month is Stop Violence Against Men day. It is a day when we all pause to reflect upon the fact that men taste by far the greater share of violence (and other physical misery) on planet Earth. Women, as a group, are far more sheltered and privileged in this respect.

Last month, I got an immediate wall of pushback from a bunch of feminists and other left-wing types on Twitter. They evidently thought that violence against men was an okay thing, and nothing to get fussed about. This attitude is typical of feminsts and their allies, and the proof keeps pouring in.

If Malcolm X was correct in stating that "there is no such thing as a non-violent revolution", then let those who oppose us be the violent ones, and let their violence be THEIR undoing - not ours.

We non-feminists are not the violent ones in this struggle. Admittedly we are not pacifists, and we will defend ourselves, but our self-defense will take a physical form only if actions against us become sanguinary or life-threatening. Apart from that, we will stand up to feminist bullying most vociferously, meaning that we will not shrink from the use of harsh analysis and rude language against feminist aggression. But come what may, let us never forget that we non-feminists are "punching up" against a primary aggressor who is on top, and even if we are in a lower position in terms of power, we do occupy the moral high ground.

Stop violence against men. 

And while we're at it, stop feminist aggression against the rest of the world. For to oppose feminism on behalf of humanity, and to stand up for men, are two sides of the identical struggle and cannot be understood in isolation from each other.

Her programme; The Podium Effect is a continuous 60 day fitness and nutritional plan based online, that allows you to stream workout videos and download nutritional plans in order to achieve dramatic weight-loss results in the comfort of your own home.

Now much like Results with Lucy, The Podium Effect is not free and costs £9.99 a month; which is in fact cheaper than Results with Lucy, and not too pricey at all compared to a gym membership. However Louise has uploaded three short workouts to her Youtube channel to give you an idea of the type of workouts you receive in her programme and the effort she expects from you to gain the results she promises. The Workouts are the 2 Minute Abs Workout, The 1 Minute Arm Workout and the 2 Minute Glute Workout. Now I thought about just sharing the videos with you so you can gain a free workout, however I found that they moved far too quickly to be able to get a effective workout, so I have created some mini circuits based on the moves shown in the video. This way to can gain a good, effective, short workout and have the video to show you how to do the move.

BPCC: Engen Racing Team set for showdown at penultimate round

The 2013 national motorsport season is fast coming to a close. There are just two rounds left and the fight for various national championships is becoming tense.

The Engen Racing Team will tackle the Killarney circuit in Cape Town for the penultimate event of the season in both the Bridgestone Production Cars and Engen Volkswagen Cup championships. This event takes place on Saturday, 5 October, and the team contests two of the five categories that form the Super Series.

With the championships reaching their closing stages, every available point is now of primary concern. For those drivers building up to a potential title every little bit of breathing space in the points standing counts. For the drivers who are still chasing a podium finish, the best possible results in the final rounds is of critical importance.

In Bridgestone Production Cars the championship leader, Engen Xtreme's Michael Stephen (A1), has built up a commanding lead and is the clear favourite to claim the title this season. Stephen is optimistic about his chances – which will see him reach a third consecutive national championship title if he maintains his performance through the final two rounds.

With back-to-back victories in 2011 and 2012, Stephen has again produced another extreme performance capable of placing him on the No1 platform of the podium for the year.

For Tschops Sipuka (A2) the final two rounds will see him in a strong campaign to be among the top finishers for the season. With six races remaining in the final two events, good race day finishes could possibly provide him with sufficient points to join Stephen on the podium when the final points are tallied.

Sipuka has proved time and again that he has the talent and pace to compete at the sharp end of the competition. The reverse grid system in place to promote exciting racing could play into Sipuka’s strategy and provide him with the break he needs to gain the points for a strong season finish.

The single-make Engen Volkswagen Cup series sees the Engen Primax entry of Kosie Weyers (5) at the top of the leaderboard. Weyers has put in a disciplined performance this season to rack up point after point. After the first seven rounds of the nine round championship he has a 62 point lead on the field.

Killarney will see Weyers on his home turf in another battle for overall race day victory. The young Capetonian’s pedigree is evident with a rookie of the year in 2011 and a third placed championship finish in 2012, this year he is guaranteed to improve on an already steep performance trend. Weyers has won eight races so far this year, with a trio of double-victories to his credit. Another strong performance could render any attempt to catch him futile and he might well enter the final event as the 2013 championship winner.

Mandla Mdakane (18) will continue his fight for position at the final two rounds of his first year in this popular saloon car formula. A return to Killarney for the penultimate round can count in his favour as he can make use of his setup earlier this year to challenge for position.

Mdakane's first outing at Killarney this season, round two of the championship, saw him produce his second-best result of the season so far. Returning there for a second event could be the boost he needs to a season which has had its fair share of challenges.

The Engen Racing Team will provide motorsport fans with five races of non-stop action as they fight for every point in their respective championships. Look out for an action-packed race day as these drivers heat up the track in Cape Town’s closing event of the national championship.

FIA GT: Podium results for the Audi teams at Navarra

Navarra in Spain hosted the fifth and penultimate FIA GT Series round this weekend.

Four Audi R8 LMS ultra cars were entered, three from Belgian Audi Team WRT and one from Team Novadriver. WRT arrived with the goal of maintaining their advantage at the head of the driver’s and team’s points standings. 

During qualifying the Audis showed very well, as Stippler and Sandström qualified on the front row. The qualifying race got underway in wet conditions, with many teams gambling on tires. The #12 WRT Audi suffered on the wrong tires, but a terrific battle for second place ensued between the #11 and #13 WRT Audis. By the end of the race the #13 of Stippler and Sandtröm finished second, as Ortelli and Vanthoor dropped back to seventh, having gambled on the wrong tires during the pitstop. The #14 Team Novadriver Audi finished sixth overall, taking third in the PAM class. 

The main championship race on Sunday saw another podium result for WRT, as the #13 crew finished third, followed by their teammates in the #12 in fifth. The #11 of Vanthoor and Ortelli suffered brake issues and finished fifteenth. Team Novadriver finished ninth overall, again on the PAM podium. The championship battle will come down to the final round at Baku, as Ortelli and Vanthoor lead the standings in the #11 WRT Audi, just five points ahead of Stippler and  Sandström in the #13 WRT Audi. Belgian Audi Club Team WRT remain in the lead of the team’s championship points.

The finale of the FIA GT Series will be the Baku City Challenge in Azerbaijan, to be hosted from 22-24 November.
