Fitness Friday| Zaggora Viva Capri Hot Pants Review

Zagora hot pants review010

I have always been intrigued by Zaggoras Hot Pants, but just could not justify spending £70 on a pair of pants that may just be a gimmick... I'm not one to buy into things easily seems I work in marketing myself. However I was lucky enough to win a pair of Zaggora Viva Capri Hot-Pants* on my birthday in May.

My first experience with Zaggora weren't great as I had to wait for a month for my prize to arrive but when they did finally arrive I tried them on straight away as I was worried about the sizing. I had ordered a size S, as I was in-between a S-M size, and seems Zaggora claim you lose weight and inches in two weeks of wearing the pants then I thought I'd best get the small and slim into them. I was pleased to see that they did fit after a lot of squeezing, pulling and sweating! So armed with my new bright purple pants I took them out for a run.

The first thing you notice is the noise! Oh my word they are noisy! If you are a shy person then you probably don't want to be wearing bright purple noisy pants. However if you have thighs that don't touch then this won't effect you. So to put me off the noise I turned up my music and set off for a run. I actually felt quite confident when wearing the pants because they are like running in a pair of spanx... they pull in your tummy, legs and bum and are very flattering! It took me a little while to get used to the tightness of the pants, as they are obviously a bit more restricting than regular running leggings, however I could still run at my normal pace.

I really put my pants to the test when I attended bootcamp, as there is a lot of running, jumping and crawling. My fellow bootcampers thought it was very funny seems they could hear me before they could see me with my swishy pants. At bootcamp was when I first noticed the "Hot Pants" work. I was about half way through the class when I felt a trickling down my calf and found that my legs were sweaty so much because of the Zaggora pants that sweat was dripping down my thighs and seeping through the bottom of the pants and at parts through the seems. So the technology behind the pants definitely works, I sweat a hell of a lot more while wearing them. A little embarrassing walking home with a sweaty bum!

So do they work? Well Zaggora claim that their "Hot Pants technology" help you lose weight and inches quickly. I put my Zaggora pants to test for 6 weeks, wearing them 6 days a week for at least half an hour, and although I can’t say if I lost weight (I don’t weigh myself) I can say that I did lose inches. I lost 1.5 inches from my bum and hips and feel a hell of a lot more toned. I still have cellulite so it didn’t get rid of that, but the pants leave your skin very smooth and do help with the tone in your legs and bum… but then again so does exercise!

So what's my final opinion? I think that the Zaggora pants are a good workout pants once you get over the noise as that is a little embarrassing and hard to explain. I like that they are colourful and tight fitting as it makes me feel more confident when I'm working out. They are very flattering, look good and help improve your skin tone. However I don't think I would buy them myself as they are a little out of my price range as I buy and wear a lot of workout clothes so need them to be affordable.

Have you ever tried the Zaggora Workout Pants? What did you think about the noise? Have you been tempted to give them ago?

Audi R8 LMS Cup: Action-packed days for Audi customer racing in Malaysia

Audi R8 LMS Cup Press Release

  •          Audi R8 LMS Cup debuts at Sepang International Circuit
  •          Four Audi entries in the 12-hour Malaysia Merdeka Endurance Race (MMER)
  •          Activities underline expanding Audi motorsport program in Asia

Beijing/Sepang, August 29, 2013 – The Audi R8 LMS Cup debuts in Malaysia with Rounds 7 and 8 of the 2013 season to be held at Sepang International Circuit on August 30 and 31 (Live broadcast on:www.audir8lmscup.com). Following the cup, four Audi customer racing entries will compete in the 12-hour Malaysia Merdeka Endurance Race (MMER) on Sunday, September 1.

"Our expanding customer racing activities in Asia are diverse and interconnected at the same time. Three Audi entries in the 12-hour MMER come from the Audi R8 LMS Cup, one from an Audi supported team of the GT Asia series. I expect exciting but also challenging days of motorsport", says Rene Koneberg, Director of Audi Sport customer racing Asia.

The MMER was held in Sepang for the first time in 2000 and has since become one of the leading endurance races in Asia. Eight of the Audi R8 LMS Cup drivers - including the Top 3 in the overall standings - will also get behind the wheel for the 12-hour race. All four Audi MMER entries (J-Fly Absolute Racing, Tiger Absolute Racing, plus two entries from Chinese team BRT) are supported by Audi Sport customer racing Asia and serviced by Absolute Racing.

The Audi R8 LMS cup races in Sepang will be the sprint series' first visit to South East Asia. Ahead of Round 7, Adderly Fong tops the leaderboard of the cup with 105 points. Fong comes to Malaysia straight from Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium where he competed in the GP3 Series. Behind him and second overall is his Hong Kong compatriot and last year's overall winner Marchy Lee (91 points). In third position and determined to give his fans at his home circuit something to cheer about is Malaysian racer Alex Yoong (89 points). The former Formula One driver lead the overall cup standings for the first four rounds, before a dismal qualifying session saw Yoong relinquish crucial points during the previous race weekend in Inje, South Korea.

The Audi R8 LMS Cup is the first brand cup in the history of Audi. After its successful maiden season in China in 2012, the sprint race series is expanding in Asia this year, with new stops in South Korea, Malaysia and Macau. Alongside the overall classification of the 2013 Audi R8 LMS Cup, there are categories for amateurs, teams and a special dealer trophy for Audi dealership teams. Coming to Sepang, Alex Au from Hong Kong is leading the amateur class.

The Sepang International Race Circuit in Malaysia is a F1 certified track and about 5.5 kilometers long. With 15 turns and 8 straights, the circuit is allowing for plenty of overtaking opportunities. It was officially opened in March 1999.

FIA WEC: Benoît Tréluyer : Only victory will suffice

Benoit Tréluyer Press Release

Following the two-month break since the previous round at Le Mans, it's a fully refreshed and invigorated Benoît Tréluyer who is eager to begin the second half of this year's FIA World Endurance Championship campaign. Five key events - beginning in Brazil this weekend and subsequently taking in the Kingdom of Bahrain, America, Japan and China - that will decide the destination of the 2013 WEC crown, a crown the reigning world champion is eager to retain.

However, Benoît and his Audi Sport team-mates André Lotterer and Marcel Fässler will need to score the best result possible in order to keep their hands on the title. Merely finishing in the points will not be enough to reduce the deficit to their nearest rivals and explains why Treluyer has continued his intensive preparation throughout a summer break that combined sport with family, friends and relaxation.

"There's been a lot of physical training, but I've also enjoyed spending time with my family and friends," confirms Benoît before catching his plane to Brazil. "I began [the summer break] by spending a week with my partners SRAM and GT in the Deux Alpes ski resort which was hosting Crankworx, a very prestigious mountain bike event. There was the Enduro World Cup, downhill mountain biking, slopestyle and the best riders in the world. It was a very enjoyable week and I did a lot of cycling! Straight afterwards me and my family headed for the north of France to spend a few days in Le Touquet, where the weather was great and a little cooler, before we returned south. We welcomed my sister, some friends and even a journalist who conducted an interview for the French off-road cycling magazine Vélo Vert, which was published in the August issue. Our house in Gordes has been full of visitors, but I've still found time to fine tune my physical condition and prepare for the end of the season. I am in great shape!"

Between bike training sessions, Benoît also indulged in another of his hobbies: restoring historic motorcycles!

"I am currently working on a René Gillet 125 VB from 1951 which we found in my wife Mélanie's grandfather's garage. I'm taking my time over it and having great fun!"

On top of all that, Tréluyer has also been backwards and forwards to Audi's Ingolstadt base in Germany several times in preparation for the second half of the season, which begins this weekend at Interlagos. As a boy it's a circuit he always dreamt of racing at and something he achieved for the first time last year.

"I love the circuit in Sao Paulo, despite discovering last year that the tarmac doesn't have too much grip. But we've made progress with both the tyres and car's aero since then so we'll have a set-up that's better suited this time. We will be much more competitive, that's for sure, but at the same time it's impossible to say by how much."

For the time being the only certainty is that the fight for this year's title will be extremely tight with the sister Audi R18 e-tron quattro of Tom Kristensen, Allan McNish and Loïc Duval.

"We will have to win everything and not miss out on a single point," predicts Benoît. "Last year, with André and Marcel, we won the championship largely thanks to the double points we scored for our Le Mans victory, which helped to cancel out some of the lesser results, such as at the 12 Hours of Sebring where we only scored one and a half points. Saying that, this year we managed to fight back and finish fifth at La Sarthe, which gave us a few precious points."

Ahead of Interlagos, the #1 crew trail their Audi Sport team-mates by 30 points. It's a significant gap, but one that is not insurmountable.

"Many things can happen over five races," insists the Frenchman. "Of course, we will have to work very hard to recover the lost ground, but we believe we can do it. We're not planning on throwing the towel in!"

Ingolstadt's other sports-prototype will not be their only significant opponent in Brazil where Benoît and his team-mates will also have one eye on Toyota.

"I do hope that our Japanese friends will fight hard until the end of the season and that we are going to have great battles against them, even if their focus seems to have shifted to next year. On our side as well, behind the scenes, we are actively preparing for 2014. The arrival of Porsche and a driver of Mark Webber's calibre is fantastic for the championship. We are all very curious to discover how we stack up against a proven F1 winner. On top of that he seems like a real good guy, with both feet on the ground. He's clever, works hard and has a profile that matches the WEC perfectly.

"But in the meantime there's still a championship for us to fight for."
